Faithful to the pursuit of legal excellence in the quest of making our society a better place to live in, the Strathmore Law Review (SLR) is pleased to announce that, after the successful publications of its first 2 volumes and the completion of the 3rd, it is now accepting submissions for its 4th Volume, Issue 1.

In this issue, the SLR Board invites students to submit articles, case commentaries, legislative commentaries, book reviews or notes on any aspect of the Law in relation to Philosophy, Public Policy, Governance or Economics in any African country or region under the theme ‘Legislating for tomorrow’s Africa’.

As a law student, being a published author will help you distinguish yourself in the legal profession. For this reason, the Board encourages you to submit your work for the review.

The Call for Submissions will close on the Midnight of 14 August 2018.

Why publish with the SLR?

  • It is the only consistent high-level student law review in Kenya presently.
  • It aims to promote the growth of quality African legal literature, evidenced from past themes and previous authors.
  • Focus is given to the quality of the paper and not the academic credentials of the author. In fact, the SLR prides itself in its quality assurance measures such as creation of a marking rubric to ensure uniformity of mark allocation and blind review editing which curtails any biases that the editors may have.
  • Quality feedback is provided on the authors’ papers irrespective of whether or not their papers are selected for publication so as to help the authors improve on their skills.
